Bagan is the famous ancient city located in the Mandalay region of Myanmar. Bagan is known for the archaeological area, where more than 2,000 Buddhist monuments tower over green plains. And there are many holy sites around Old Bagan that include ornate Ananda Temple, built in 1091 and topped with a golden stupa. Also Nearby is the vast 12th-century Dhammayangyi Temple. Bagan is a must if you are seeing all the main spots in Myanmar.
The hotel has all modern amenities, and besides a bar and restuarant, there is a swimming pool, which is a must, after a day out visiting all the sites, coming back to a refreashing pool, makes all the difference.
There are many ways to get to Bagan. One can fly by plane from most of Myanmar's main cities, one can take a bus and even a train. If you are interested in taking a boat, this is also possible. A great trip along the Irrawaddy from Mandalay, will take about 12 hours, but is quite an experience and worth considering.
January and February are both great months to visit Myanmar as it's dry across the board and temperatures haven't yet reached stifling. March and April temperatures will rise considerably. The hot weather is a prelude to Burma's monsoon season which takes place from May all the way through the summer months of June, July and August.
Rain tends to fall in the afternoon and early evening with several resorts along the coast, including Ngapali Beach, closing down completely.
Some consider November or December the best times to visit however things can get busy and accommodation will become difficult to find, so do consider booking in advance.
