The sky stretches out over Bagan Lodge bungalows. With the temples of Bagan as your backdrop, there really is not better place to stay when visiting Myanmar's old kingdom.
Bagan Lodge is situated just outside of New Bagan just a short 15 minute journey from the airport. From the hotel you can head out and explore some of the many famous temples by car, eletric bike, or bicycle, the choice is yours. Some of the nearby temples include Dhammayazika Pagoda and Tarmani Pagoda, but there are many many more within nearby distance. New Bagan itself is less then a 5 minute drive away and is a bustling town with many new restaurants cropping up.
Bagan Lodge has 85 rooms, which seems like a lot, but it's so well designed that you really do feel like you're in a boutique hotel all by yourself. There are two categories but we would only recommend you stay in a Villa, as opposed to the Suite.
You won't be lacking for facilities. There are two swimming pools at opposite ends of the hotel with a jacuzzi and pool bar to go with them. You can get transported around the vast grounds by golf buggy as well so don't worry about accessebility. There is a luxurious spa, gardens and a fitness centre as well so everyone is well catered for/
The restaurant is located close to the main entrance and serves a large array of food from Western to Myanmar and all sorts of Asian. There are several bars including the pool bar, snack bar and main bar, which are dotted around the hotel. The breakfast buffet is extremely impressive, while lunch and dinner are good if not spectacular. Being close to New Bagan there are plenty of other restaurants to explore that we'd recommend.
