Sales & Partnerships Manager

Job Description

Thahara is backed by investment & advisory group Anthem Asia and is a marketing and management platform for tourism services across Myanmar.  We source innovative and sustainable tourism products across the country and market these to the international community via our website. 

The company is looking for a talented manager to build its sales and partnerships operation. This is a great opportunity for the right person to be a part of an ambitious company and make a mark in the fast growing Myanmar tourism sector. 

As the Sales & Partnerships Manager you will be responsible for driving bookings and telling the world about this new company. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing the sales strategy. This will include developing a network of trusted tour operators and partners in Myanmar while driving direct bookings through the company’s own website.
  • Manage all elements of the partnership and contracting process from target identification and initial contact to contract agreement.
  • Work alongside the General Manager to help align the sales and marketing strategies and execute these initiatives to reach Thahara’s targeted customers.
  • Managing the company’s online reservations system and creating weekly sales reports based on direct bookings. 
  • Recruiting, training and managing a sales team.
  • Report directly to the General Manager

Required Skills / Experience

  • At least 5-7 years of sales and marketing experience in the tourism or hospitality industry
  • Excellent English and Myanmar language skills, both written and verbal
  • Entrepreneurial and resourceful – must be a self-starter who thrives in small teams and is a fast learner
  • Strong creative skills including understanding how to manage a brand
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical and negotiating skills
  • Excellent computer skills (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and adept at using the internet
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field preferred
  • A passion for travel and sharing Myanmar with the world


  • Experience managing others, including recruiting and building teams
  • Experience in digital marketing
  • Experience working in a start-up (a new company)
  • Technical creative skills (Photoshop, Illustrator etc.) would be a bonus

General information

Location: This job will be based in Yangon, Myanmar. 

Salary: The salary will be based on experience, but will be competitive for the sector.
